Dear Fellow Paleontologists:
We are writing to update you on the Ninth North American Paleontological Convention, which will take place on the campus of the University of Cincinnati, June 21-26, 2009.
More than 500 abstracts were accepted for NAPC 2009, with first authors representing 30 different countries! The meeting will include two plenary sessions, nineteen symposia, nine topical sessions, and three poster sessions, plus a full slate of field trips before and after the meeting, as well on Wednesday, June 24, which will be a "break" day from formal sessions. The technical-session program and abstracts are now available online at the NAPC 2009 website:
http://www.napc2009.org/
Pre-registration is now open at the NAPC 2009 website, with a deadline of June 1. In addition to the online registration form, you can find a variety of logistical information at the website about housing options (with an opportunity to register online for University housing), field trips, meal-plan options and other amenities, opportunities available to students for rebates of registration fees (American students) and partial reimbursement of travel expenses (International students), travelling to the meeting, planned social activities, and an education-and-outreach day that has been built into the program for Thursday, June 25. Please check back at the site regularly, as it is updated frequently with new information.
We look forward to welcoming you to Cincinnati for NAPC 2009! As always, if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact Arnie Miller (arnold.miller at uc.edu), chair of the organizing committee, as well as other committee members, whose names and e-mail addresses are provided at the website.
Sincerely,
The NAPC 2009 Organizing Committee
