Colleagues,
I am looking to try an analysis of sampling domain size that I've been thinking about for a few years. Yesterday I met with a high school student who is interested in this project, so I think now is the time to try it. What I need from the invert. paleo community are some bulk samples (min 300 specimens) rich in pelecypods. Quaternary samples would work best because I need to be able to sieve out whole valves without breaking them. Anything like what is collected along the Atlantic Coastal Plain from Eocene - Pleistocene would be perfect. Accompanying information on facies of samples is also needed.
If anyone has some extra bulk sampled fossils lying around that matches the above description, please email me offlist (geojbb at hofstra.edu). I will gladly pay for shipping to get my hands on some samples to work with.
Many thanks!
Bret
