Paleonet: Synonymy

While organizing my coal flora fossils, I noticed an unique feature on a Neuroptrid. I have since identified this as N. decipiens and decided to reseach the feature and possible cause. I am thinking toward writing a paper and trying to publish. A big drawback for me is I have a bachelor's in Earth Science and a large smattering of master level courses but no master's degree. My question is twofold:should I include a synonymy with my description of the specimen? ( I think I should.) And as this specimen lies in my collection and I am describing it for the first time, should my name be include at the end of the synonymy?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Regards, Joseph Fabiny
