Dear colleagues,

This is the first announcement of the Taphos-2011 meeting to be held in
Tübingen, Germany from June 13th to 17th, 2011.

See the website at:

Taphos-2011 represents the 6th International Meeting on Taphonomy and
continues the tradition of taphonomic meetings that have been regularly
held in Spain since 1990. The aims of these meetings have been to
integrate all aspects of current taphonomic research from both
palaeontological and archaeological context. It was decided at the last
meeting in Granada in 2008 to go international and hold the meeting at
the Institute of Geosciences of the University of Tübingen, Germany from
June 13th to 17th, 2011.

Presentations will include talks and posters and will encompass both
palaeontological and archaeological themes

Both pre- and post-symposium field trips are planned and will include
classic localities in southern Germany with, among others the Posidonia
shales, Solnhofen and Messel.

Tübingen can be reached by car, train or airplane. It is conveniently
located close to Stuttgart airport which is connected to Tübingen by
both airport bus and local train services. Frankfurt and Munich Airports
are also within a few hours train trip from Tübingen.

A more detailed website and registration details will follow in due time.
