Many thanks to so many of you, both on camera and off, for contributing and making this series happen. February 12, on the Animal Planet Network, the first episode, the Ordovician Mass extinction, kicks things off. Lots of large nautiloids, eurypterids, and gobs of blue blood filling the ocean in the melee.

We found that television requires compromises. There will be errors. But we really tried to do justice to invertebrates as well as the charismatic megafauna, right down to the appearance of sponges, horn corals, and appropriate crinoids.

I will not see it, for I will be on James Ross Island, Antarctica, until March 20.
