Paleonet: NAPC 2009 Abstract deadline extended to Feb. 17

Dear Fellow Paleontologists:

We are writing to let you know that we are extending the deadline for submission of abstracts for the Ninth North American Paleontological Convention (NAPC 2009) to February 17, at 5 pm EST; the website (http://www.napc2009.org/) will not accept abstracts after that time.  
 
We have been very gratified to see the worldwide interest in the meeting.  As of this writing, first authors on submitted abstracts come from 24 different countries!  To accommodate the growing stream of submissions, however, we thought it would be wise to extend the deadline by a few days, to reduce the possibility of difficulties with our electronic-submission system during a last-minute flurry of submissions.   
 
In this spirit, please do not wait until 4:59 EST on the 17th to submit your abstract!
 
Many thanks to all of you who have submitted abstracts, or who are planning to do so.  Based on our perusal of the abstracts submitted thus far, it is already clear that  this is going to be an eclectic and exciting meeting.
