SCUM 2009 - Saturday January 24th
The thirteenth annual meeting of the Southern California Unified Malacologists (SCUM) will take place in the campus of California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, California, on January 24th, 2009.
SCUM is an informal association of professional, student, and amateur Malacologists and Molluscan Paleontologists who are active or interested in mollusk research. The purpose of the annual gatherings is to facilitate contact and keep one another informed of research activities and opportunities. There are no dues, no officers, and no publications
Centrally located in Southern California, Pomona is easily accessible by two major freeways. For driving directions to campus, transportation options, parking instructions, and a campus map ... click on http://www.csupomona.edu/map/index.shtml . Please do not park in metered or reserved parking spots. Parking will be available for free as long as you park in parking lot D, in designed parking spots. The meeting will be at the Bronco Student Center, room Centaurus (first floor). Refer to the campus map for the location of the Student Center, which is within walking distance from the parking lot. The room will be equipped with a computer projector. You are welcome to bring your own laptop or download your presentations into the room's PC.
The room will open at 8AM with coffee service and the scientific session will begin at 9AM. Please send me an email if you would like to give a talk and I will prepare a provisional schedule. There will be a catered lunch. So please email me as soon as possible if you plan to attend and if you have any dietary preferences, so I can arrange for catering services for everybody.
