The Paleontological Research Institution is hosting it's 4th annual
summer symposium! You are invited to attend the two day meeting at PRI
and its Museum of the Earth, in Ithaca, New York, August 13-14, 2010.

This will be an opportunity to share recent research, conduct field
work, visit PRI's collections, and interact with colleagues and
students. There will be presentations (oral and poster) and a keynote
speaker followed by dinner on the 13th and a field trip to local
Devonian fossil sites on the 14th. This is an informal event and no
abstracts are required if you wish to present.

This year, our keynote speaker will be Professor Richard G Harrison of
Cornell's Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. The temporary
exhibit at the museum from now until after the symposium, "One fish, Two
Fish, Old Fish, New Fish*: Exploring the Evolution of Biodiversity" is
funded by Professor Harrison's current NSF grant so we're very excited
to have him speak about research linked to the exhibit.

Though there are no formal events on Thursday 12th, we encourage you to
come a day early if you're interested in visiting our collections. The
museum will be open for people to sleep over or camp outside on Thursday
night as well as Friday.

An online registration form can be found at:

Please pass this message along to anyone you think might be interested
and please contact me with any questions. We look forward to seeing you
in Ithaca this summer.

Ursula
