Dear Colleagues,
We would like to call your attention to a theme session focused on the mammalian fossil record of Utah to be held at the 2011 Geological Society of America Combined Rocky Mountain-Cordilleran Section Meeting. The meeting will be held in Logan, Utah, from May 18-20, 2011. This theme session will highlight current research on mammalian paleontology in Utah that includes, but is not restricted to, aspects of paleobiology, systematics, taphonomy, paleoecology, and biostratigraphy and biochronology.
The meeting will be followed by a two day field trip focused on the paleontology and stratigraphy of the historic Bridger and Uinta basins in Wyoming and Utah (stratotypes of the Bridgerian, Uintan and Duchesnean North American Land Mammal "Ages").
The abstract deadline for the theme session is February 15, 2011. Please see the meeting website for further details and updates: http://www.geosociety.org/Sections/rm/2011mtg/index.htm <http://www.geosociety.org/Sections/rm/2011mtg/index.htm>
Best Regards,
Paul Murphey, Beth Townsend, and Tony Friscia
