Hi all,
I would like to bring to your attention the Harris Post-Doc in the
Department of Geology and Geophysics at Texas A&M University (see ad
below). The post-doc is for two years, covers salary and benefits, and
provides a modest pool of money to carry out research. It is not
limited to any specific discipline within the geosciences, and although
evaluation is competitive, paleontologically oriented applicants have
historically fared very well (one of the recent recipients is a
paleontologist). If you have any questions or wish to apply, please

David B. Harris Postdoctoral Fellowship Texas A&M University
The Department of Geology and Geophysics at Texas A&M University,
College Station, Texas, is pleased to announce the availability of a
postdoctoral fellowship funded through a gift from David B. Harris. The
postdoctoral fellowship appointment is two years. Outstanding young
scientists who have finished their Ph.D. degree, or who will finish
prior to 1 September 2010, are eligible to apply. Research may be in any
area of the geological and geophysical sciences. However, we are
particularly interested in receiving applications from scientists whose
work will contribute to existing research programs in the Department of
Geology and Geophysics. Information about the Department can be found at

Review of applications will begin February 1, 2010. Applications should
include a curriculum vitae, statement of proposed research, and names
and addresses of three referees. Applicants are urged to contact a
member of the Department of Geology and Geophysics with whom they
