Paleonet: Paleonet security, thanks to Norm MacLeod

Dear Colleagues,

     Warm thanks are due to Norm MacLeod for establishing PaleoNet and for running it as it is currently configured.

     As in the case of handling passengers who wish to travel internationally by air, we have to find the right balance between security and utility.  The cost of substantial security is very high as both terrorists and airline passengers know.  Where the frequency and costs of error are relatively low, I am sure most of us favor the simplest possible means of transmission of information.

     Thanks again for your efforts, Norm!
