Dear colleagues
Just a short reminder that the deadline for abstract submissions for the session on "DEEP TIME TERRESTRIAL ECOSYSTEMS" @ EGU meeting (May 2-7, 2010)
is the 18th of January !
SSP4.2
Deep time terrestrial ecosystems (co-sponsored by PalAss)
Convener: Wolfram Kuerschner
Co-Conveners: Marco Vecoli , Darren Gröcke , Robert Spicer
The aim of this session is to bring together palaeobiologists, geochemists and modellers from a variety of disciplines to promote a better understanding of the role and evolution of terrestrial ecosystems, their impact on the atmosphere, lithosphere and climate, and vice versa. We encourage workers from all disciplines analyzing the terrestrial (in)vertebrate and plant fossil record by means of palaeobiological or geochemical methods, and those involved primarily in terrestrial models. Submissions are asked from all geological time periods, including modern and recent systems. We also particularly want periods of major environmental change (C3/C4 plants) and biotic turnovers (mass extinctions).
