Tom-
As I mentioned to you a few weeks ago, Peg Yacobucci and I are trying to put together a session on "Species and Speciation in the Fossil Record" for the Minneapolis meeting. We would like to propose it to GSA as a Penrose session. Can/should we also propose it simultaneously as a theme session?
Thanks.

Subject: Paleonet: One week left to propose GSA topical sessions

Hi all,

This is just a reminder that the deadline for proposing topical sessions at GSA in Minneapolis (9-12 October 2011) is January 11. Topical sessions are a great way to make sure that the topics that most interest you are the ones on the schedule at the meeting because you organize the talks and invite the speakers. Contact me, the society's program coordinator, to get Paleontological Society sponsorship.

For more details or to submit a session proposal, see GSA's website: http://gsa.confex.com/gsa/2011AM/TopicalRequirements.epl
