Paleonet: Digital camera upgrade

My current microscope camera setup is a Wild M-5 with a monocular phototube, which allows stereo photos. To this is attached a Kodak DC-290 digital camera, by a very expensive (at the time) and complicated adapter setup. Although it works well enough, the camera (2.1 megapixel) is clearly no longer state of the art. and is awkward to focus. Unfortunately, Kodak no longer supports it for scientific imaging and none of their more recent cameras attach to the same adapter setup. Any suggestions on a replacement? I don't have the funds for a new microscope (and I love the Wild), but I would like to have a camera setup that is compatible.
