Research Assistant to the Keeper

Salary range: £28,022 per annum plus benefits
Contract: 36 month fixed-term appointment

A vacancy has arisen for an experienced Research Assistant to support the
Keeper of Palaeontology in the research and delivery of his projects,
including the preparation of technical manuscripts and grant proposals. You
will also be responsible for developing a programme of personal research and
the management and maintenance of the department¹s Imaging Suite. The
successful candidate will have good working knowledge of all aspects of
Palaeontology, high-level research and quantitative data analysis. A PhD (or
equivalent) in Palaeontology is essential for this post.

Knowledge, skills and experience:
    - PhD (Palaeontology)
    - Good working knowledge of all branches of palaeontology, high level
        research skills/experience in one area
    - Research level quantitative data analysis experience
    - Laboratory management experience
    - Manuscript preparation/proof-reading experience
    - Good command of written and spoken English
    - The ability to work well within a team as well as on own initiative
