Dear all,

Please bring the following advertisement to the attention of prospective
graduate students.

*******************
Graduate Research Assistantships in Foraminifera Research.

I invite a qualified and motivated undergraduate student to apply for a
graduate assistantships at Fresno State, one of the 23 campuses of the
California State University system.

The assistantship involves the reconstruction of high-resolution
paleodepth estimates via benthic foraminifera assemblages and a
sequence-stratigraphy model of foraminiferal assemblages. The results
will be combined with detailed facies and lithology analyses over a
complete Late Quaternary transgressive-regressive sequence at two sites
from IODP Exp. 317 - Canterbury Basin Sea Level: Global and local
controls on continental margin stratigraphy.

Funding is available for at least one year with additional funding
available through TAs. Preference will be given to students with
experience and interest in micropaleontology and sedimentology. Contact
Mathieu Richaud (mathieu at csufresno.edu).
