Dear Paleonetters,

I would like to remind you that abstracts for the Geological Society of
America Annual Meeting (1-4 Nov., 2015) are due IN TWO WEEKS – Tues.,
August 11.

This meeting celebrates the 200 th anniversary of the publication of
William Smiths’s Geological Map of England and Wales and Part of Scotland.

In honor of this, I have planned a poster session: “200 Years and Going
Strong: The Role of Paleontology in Geologic Mapping “ [T144] to illustrate
how fossils continue to be important to geologic mapping in the 21st
century.

Please consider contributing to this session. I would say paleontology is
as relevant now as it was then to geologic mapping.

To submit, go to:

http://community.geosociety.org/gsa2015/science-careers/sessions

For GSA, you may submit two volunteered abstracts as the presenting author, *as
long as one of the abstracts is for a poster presentation.*

Hope to see you in Baltimore!

Lucy
