Paleonet: Steve Vogel

I have just learned of the passing of biologist Steve Vogel of Duke University.  Steve's many papers and wonderful books, such as Life in Moving Fluids,  are required reading for anyone interested in functional morphology and biomechanics. 
Some of you may know his innovative paper: Vogel, S., and W.L. Balsam, 1973a. Water movement in archaeocyathids: evidence and implications of passive flow in models. J. Paleont. 47: 979-84.
He was also one of the finest professors and human beings I have had the privilege to know.
