Arthropod Evolution Research Project Manager
Introduction

In order to complete our team, the Faculty of Geosciences and Environment / Institute of Earth Science is looking for an Arthropod Evolution Research Project Manager to join the lab of Allison Daley.

Your responsibilities
A post doctoral researcher is sought to join the lab of Allison Daley. This person will act as the project manager for an arthropod project on Fezouata Biota fossils (50%), which includes:
* Being responsible for the acquisition, shipping, curation, and initial taxon survey of the collection;
* Preparation of fossil material;
* Liaising with project partners;
* Managing the associated social media, crowdsourcing resources and public outreach endeavors;
* Planning and leading fieldwork in Morocco.
The post also includes being responsible for arthropod decay experimentation in the Aquarium Lab (20%), with the following duties:
* Design and implementation of decay experimentation on modern arhthropods;
* Management of experimental lines
* Collection of data and data analysis;
* Preparation of figures, photographs and images for research publications.
The successful candidate will also contribute to laboratory installation, maintenance and user management (10%) of the newly developed Aquarium Lab, Macro-imaging Llab, and Fossil Preparation Lab. This includes contributions to regular maintenance of equipment, ordering of supplies, aquarium water changes, animal care and training of users. This post also includes 20% of time dedicated to the development of the candidate's personal research profile, with expectations to publish research papers, attend scientific congresses, assist teaching, and undertake training to develop technical skills.
Your qualifications
In order to complete our team, we are looking for someone with the following skills :
* Ph.D. in Earth Sciences or Biological Sciences, with a specialisation in Paleontology
* Experience working with arthropod fossil or extant material (preferably)
* Expertise in preparing, photographing and analyzing fossil material (required)
* Experience working with data analysis programs (PAST, Paup, TNT, etc.)
* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, effective communication and interpersonal skills
* Project management skills are essential, as is a willingness to plan and lead field excursions to Morocco
* Candidates with no more than two years of postdoctoral experience are preferred.
