Dear Charles

Thank you for sending me this sad news: a great loss of a wonderful colleague. Please convey my condolences, if possible. We shared several memorable short periods together, at Field Museum, Chicago and together in the Campbell country around Ballachulish, Argyll….

Best wishes

Ian

(Dr) W D Ian Rolfe FRSE

Former Keeper of Geology, National Museums of Scotland; Deputy Director/Senior Lecturer in Geology, Hunterian Museum, University of Glasgow; past-president Palaeontological Association, Society for the History of Natural History &c

Prof. Ken Campbell passed away over the weekend in Canberra, Australia, a couple of days after a stroke. He was 89, and is survived by two sons, a daughter, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. His wife of over 55 years passed away in 2015. He had remarkably broad interests, and a very deep influence on especially Australian Paleontology (as well as your truly). His funeral will be in Canberra on June 26th.

Yours,
Charles
