The Deep Time Initiative is holding a full-day Symposium, “Life’s Greatest Hits: Key Events in Evolution,” on Friday, March 29, 2019, at the National Museum of Natural History in Washington, DC. The event is free and open to the public.

We encourage university and college educators within range of Washington, DC, to consider this as a special event for their Spring courses in Paleontology, Biology, and Earth Sciences. Other interested people and organizations are most welcome. Speakers are internationally acclaimed scientists who were selected for their ability to speak to a general audience, and talks will be substantive but accessible. The timing should coincide annual DC Cherry Blossom Festival – a good time to be in Washington!

Attached please find a flyer that includes talk titles (second page). We're happy to provide more details if requested.

Please contact Laura Soul (SoulL at if you would like to receive a follow-up email in February with additional information and instructions about registration. This promises to be an informative and exciting celebration of the history of life on earth. Hope to see you in March!
