Sorry about that Roy. You could try PIN if you haven't done so but it's unlikely; I think I may have seen a few of Schmidt's trilobite types there in the late 1980s. David

According to Andrey Zhuravlev, it is not in the catalogs of the Chernyshev Central Scientific-Research Geological-Exploring Museum in St Petersburg. Will keep trying. Best - Roy

Hi Roy,

There are two possibilities. Most likely is the Central Scientific-Research Geological Exploration Museum (Chernyshev Museum, part of VSEGEI) in St Petersburg, where most of Schmidt's types are housed. There are published catalogues of their type specimens but due to covid lockdown I don't have access to my copies to check. The less likely possibility is the Paleontological Institute in Moscow.

I am trying to track down, if they still exist, the type specimens of Stylonurus (?) simonsoni (=Mixopterus simonsoni), described by F. Schmidt (1904) in the Bulletin de l'Académie Impériale des Sciences de St.-Pétersbourg. Anyone have any suggestions of where they might be, or at least a possible contact who might be able to help?
