Paleonet: VB: Jubileumsmöte / Anniversary meeting

Dear member,

Enclosed is the second circular with information regarding our 150-years
anniversary meeting, to be held in Uppsala, August 17–19, 2021. The
meeting is organised together with Department of Earth Sciences at
Uppsala University and the Geological Survey of Sweden. The second
circular includes all important information regarding programme, dates,
abstract submission and registration. Importantly, check the website
www.geologiskaforeningen.se<http://www.geologiskaforeningen.se> for updates.

With the distribution of the second circular we also open for abstract
submission. More information on how to submit an abstract is found both
in the circular and at our website.

As you all can understand the current covid-19 pandemic is making any
kind of long-term decision hard to make. The organising committee
sincerely hopes that by August it will be possible to meet in person
again after over a year of extraordinary conditions. We work towards
this aim, but as you all know currently anything to do with the future
is “best guess”. Keep your fingers crossed!

We wish this meeting to be a grand display of the current national
excellence in Earth Sciences and therefore hope that the meeting will
engage ALL geoscientists in Sweden to meet and greet in Uppsala, and of
course also to celebrate that the Geological Society of Sweden is 150
years old. Impressive … even for a geoscientist!
