Dear Yolanda,
Thanks very much for your speedy and informative reply. This helps a lot.
In answer to your questions:
1) Please book a double room - it is likely that Bill will be coming with me(!).
2) We will plan to arrive on June 3 or 4, and we definitely would love to go on the Atapuerca field excursion and the Pinilla excursion.
3) I appreciate your guidance for the keynote talk content. I don't know whether I can come up with a long abstract, but let me know the deadline for that. Also - should the talk be 1/2 hour? 45 minutes? I would like to use slides - OK?
4) Should I also consider giving a research talk in one of the taphosystem sessions? I don't want to take up a space that should be given to someone else (e.g., earlier career).
It's going to be an exciting meeting - so glad that it is happening!
Cheers,
Kay

Dearest Kay,
Thanks very much for your message!!
yes all goes ahead (https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.taphostwg.es%2F&data=04%7C01%7CBEHRENSA%40si.edu%7Cda4530ba97464640317308d9fa35a25b%7C989b5e2a14e44efe93b78cdd5fc5d11c%7C0%7C0%7C637815931716185387%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=kVuk22JmNGHosHVaUFshRcjH0Qeu1eizGCkDdR7kVug%3D&reserved=0)- It will be excellent if you may
book your flight according to your preferences. Yes, all your expenses
will be reimbursed and covered by the congress (Next Wedb¡nesday I am
going to Alcala and one thing I meant to do is to book your hotel.
Will you like a double or single room?, not sure Bill may come). I
send attach the schedule of the congress. This will start with
excursions, one to Atapuerca on the 5th of June and the following day
to Pinilla (Neanderthals) to which you are, of course, invited, as
well as all the other excursions. Your keynote talk is scheduled for
the 7th of June around 9:30-10:30, after the opening by the university
and town authorities. This opening talk is the welcome speak you are
welcome to include your own experience, your feeling on the the
importance of the anniversary of Taphonomy, the homage events to Peter
and Sixto, the meaning of taphonomy to all different disciplines
mainly palaeoecology, palaeoenvironment and climate change
interpretations...including forensic studies or dating... as you
want...your participation is free, you are welcome to include all you
want and feel. We were wondering whether you could consider to publish
your talk or a long piece of it in the abstracts book. They will be
published in the Journal of Taphonomy, which is a pity that it does
not progress as should given the importance of the name of this
journal... I'll ask the publishers how long in advance the text and
figures you may want to include are needed for being included in the
abstract book. You may change it in your talk, not needed to be
identical to your talk... Do you think this may be possible?
Thanks very much for your message. Please, let me know any thing you
may need or consider. With all my best wishes and love, Yolanda
