Paleonet: Reminder: What is Conservation Paleobiology? Survey for gathering community perspectives

Hello again PaleoNet community,



If you have not already done so, we invite you to complete the survey linked below to share your perspectives on Conservation Paleobiology.


If you have ever thought about the links between conservation and paleobiology as an instructor, researcher, practitioner, or in any other capacity, we want to hear from you!


The survey will take 15 - 20 minutes to complete and can be accessed here: https://bit.ly/WhatIsConsPaleo

We ask that you complete the survey no later than Friday, March 25.


Your survey responses will be incorporated into an open-access manuscript entitled, "Taking a pulse after twenty years: What is Conservation Paleobiology?" Conservation paleobiology has existed for many decades and as a named field since 2002. Research under the purview of conservation paleobiology covers a range of topics and it has become an increasingly common theme in paleontology over the last twenty years. Given the growth of the field and the breadth of associated research, our objective is to understand what we as a community mean when we talk about "conservation paleobiology."


All responses will be kept anonymous and the survey has exempt status from the Ethics Commission of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg.
