Hello PaleoNet,

We would like to invite all interested to submit abstracts for our 2024 North
American Paleontological Convention session *Wetland Ecology Through Time*
co-convened by Dr Michelle Chrpa (UD) and Dr Samuel Neely (FIU).

This session will be held in June at the 12th North American
Paleontological Convention at the University of Michigan.

We welcome submissions across a wide range of topics, including, but not
limited to: paleoecological, paleobotanical, palynological,
micropaleontological, archaeological, biogeochemical, geological,
petrographic, and biomarker analyses from modern and ancient data to
interpret environmental change in wetlands through time.

*Session overview:*

This interdisciplinary session will focus on wetlands. Wetlands provide a
vital record of sea-level change and carbon cycle dynamics through time.
Talks will target the ecology of Phanerozoic coastal and inland wetlands,
their relevance to anthropogenic climate change, and the sustainability of
coastal and inland wetland ecosystems. Contributions on all aspects of
wetland ecology and wetland communities are encouraged, including
vertebrates, plants, and macro- and microinvertebrates.

Submit your abstract by 20 January 2024, 11:59 PM ET:
https://sites.lsa.umich.edu/napc2024/prepare-and-submit-your-presentation-abstract/

If you have any questions, then please feel free to contact the session
organizers: Michelle Chrpa (mchrpa at udel.edu) or Samuel Neely (sneely at fiu.edu
).

Cheers,

Michelle and Sam
