Dear colleagues,
We are organizing a topical session on arthropod paleobiology at the
Geological Society of America annual meeting this year to be held in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on the 15-18 October.
Please consider submitting an abstract to session T78. “*Advances in
Arthropod Paleobiology: Honoring the Illustrious Career of Rodney Feldmann.*
”
This session celebrates the enormous contributions to arthropod
paleontology by Dr. Rodney Feldmann for over five decades. His work has
focused mainly on the description and evolutionary history of decapod
crustaceans from all continents, but he has also published on non-decapod
arthropods such as horseshoe crabs, millipedes, cyclidans, and other
crustaceans throughout the Phanerozoic. His total number of publications
adds up to more than a staggering 350 scientific papers. He has directed
Master theses and PhD dissertations for more than 50 students. Research in
any area within the incredibly diverse arthropod clade is more than
welcome.
Abstract submission is already open and available at
https://community.geosociety.org/gsa2023/
<https://community.geosociety.org/gsa2023/home>
The *abstract deadline* is 11:59 p.m., Pacific Time, *25 July* *2023*.
This session is sponsored by the Paleontological Society and the
Paleontological Research Institute.
Please, help to spread the word with anyone among your contacts that you
think could be interested.
We hope to see many of you there!
