Dear Sara,

I’ve red Graces’ thesis with a big pleasure. It’s a very accurate and precise work recovering a number of interesting sedimentary structures related to the latest archaeocyath reefs.
Note, please, that Fig. 7e shows archaeocyath outgrowths that Archaeocyathus ought to be used to strengthen the framework by attaching to neighbour cups. These outgrowths have the same intervallar structure as the parental individual itself.
Also, extremely interesting are microstromatolites infilling the archaeocyath central cavities (Figs 7c & 11c). They can be indicative for highly and frequently changeable shallow subtidal to peritidal/supratidal conditions with microstromatolites developed during the shallower phase.

Best,
Andrey

>For those of you thinking of attending the Geological Society of America Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh, PA this year (October 15 to 18), we invite you to please consider submitting an abstract to a session chaired by Ben Gill, Lidya Tarhan and me entitled:
>  T67 The Early Paleozoic: Radiations, Extinctions, and Environment
>
>In this session, we hope to bring together a multidisciplinary group of geoscientists to share their research on any aspect of the Early Paleozoic, from the terrestrial to the marine realm. Please forward to any interested students and colleagues — we hope to have a dynamic session that fosters cross-disciplinary discussions of this critical interval in Earth’s history.
>
>Abstract submission is open here:  https://community.geosociety.org/gsa2023/  and the   abstract deadline  is  July 25   2023 .
