 Dear colleagues,

The* Paleontology in the Parks* Fellowship Program, as many of you know, is
a joint collaboration funded by the Paleontological Society and U.S.
National Park Service. The program is designed to provide opportunities for
students and recent graduates interested in paleontology to gain experience
working with the NPS. The program model requires applying with a mentor who
has expertise to guide the student in contributing to specific paleontology
projects identified by the NPS. The program is currently only open to
individuals based in the U.S. I'm thrilled to share on *National Fossil Day*
that we have several new opportunities posted! These include:

   - *Spanish Language Paleontological Outreach Assistant(s)*
   - *NPS Paleontology Program Artists-in-Residence*
   -
*NPS Paleontology Program Assistant *

To learn more about the program, see here
<https://www.paleosoc.org/paleontology-in-the-parks-fellowship-program>.
Details about the specific opportunities listed can be found here
<https://www.paleosoc.org/nps-ps-paleontology-in-the-parks-application-info>.

I'm also delighted to share that one of the outcomes of a pilot project
from this program is a Spanish language version of the *NPS Junior
Paleontologist *booklet now available online
<https://www.nps.gov/subjects/fossils/junior-paleontologist.htm> as of
TODAY! Feliz Día Nacional de los Fósiles! We are overjoyed to have this new
resource launch for education and outreach during both Earth Science Week
and Hispanic Heritage Month.

Other projects supported by this program have included field-based
inventories at specific parks, study of paleobotanical resources across the
NPS, research on management issues for fossils in coastal settings, and
more. If you're going to GSA next week, please consider attending
presentations led by our students, or follow up with me if you have
questions (cvisaggi at gsu.edu).

The priority deadline for these new opportunities is *Friday, November 10th*.
We hope to see many applications!

Best,
Dr. Christy Visaggi
