PaleoNet: PBDB Summer Workshop: Applications now open

Dear all,

We are excited to announce that the Paleobiology Database Summer Workshop is now open for applications.

Dates: July 15th-19th, 2024 (5 days)
Location: George Mason University, Fairfax, VA, USA

Audience: The workshop is open to all, with a special emphasis on graduate students and early career researchers.

Content: Basic operations of the Paleobiology Database, searching for and browsing data, educational resources, entering data of all types, downloading and analyzing data. There will also be sessions dedicated to entering and working on your own data.

Workshop Leaders: Mark D. Uhen, Emma Dunne, Thomas Hegna, Dan Segessenman, Bethany Allen, Matthew Clapham

Prerequisites: All participants should have a laptop each day. There will also be a short pre-short course homework assignment to ensure the first day can start smoothly.

Funding: Funding for travel and accommodation will be provided to those who are selected from the pool of applicants.

Deadline for applications: Midday EST, Monday 11th March 2024
