Each year, the Paleontological Research Institution (PRI) recognizes an individual who is not a professional paleontologist for the excellence of their contributions to the field. This award is named for PRI's second Director, Dr. Katherine Palmer<https://www.museumoftheearth.org/daring-to-dig/bio/katherine-palmer-new>, who was an avid supporter of avocational paleontology.

Please consider nominating an avocational paleontologist for this award by emailing a 1-2 page letter of support (with subject line "Katherine Palmer Award nomination") to me at hendricks at priweb.org<mailto:hendricks at priweb.org>. Please submit this letter no later than July 31, 2024.
